By my usual editing standards, I would never publish this post. The sheer amount of red tape—editing images and conceptualizing—would’ve stopped me from even starting this year. Then I remembered that unfriendly little tagline: Avoid paralysis by analysis. That was it. I knew I had to publish the first announcement on this blog.
The Marine Tack Blog is meant to share bite-sized seamanship insights to help build your arsenal—hopefully offering something useful along the way. I firmly believe in the immense value of planning ahead and gathering as much information as possible before committing to a trip. So here I am, putting this blog together.
I’m planning a breakdown of the solar system, starting with the big picture and gradually narrowing the focus to marine navigation. It’s a solid approach—especially since the layout of the solar system is key to understanding weather, which is shaped by the energy we receive from the sun. All the weather we know (or think we do) stems from solar activity and its generous reach.
I’ll be working on this idea and will return soon to begin describing key topics about the solar system.
